The Software Toolbox OPC Data Logger currently supports the collection of data through OPC Data Access(DA) 2.x servers. OPC DA 3.x servers can be used too but we will use only the DA 2.x interfaces that are inherently present in DA 3.x OPC servers. The OPC DataLogger is an OPC client, and it reads it’s data from OPC server software applications.
Whether the OPC server is connected to a PLC, DCS system, or other device, or is an OPC Server reading data from an HMI/SCADA system tag database, or any other source, if it’s an OPC Data Access server odds are we can talk to it.
If your OPC server is one that has passed the OPC Compliance Test there’s a real good chance OPC DataLogger can talk to it. The reason is because the OPC DataLogger is itself a tested and certified OPC client application.
 The OPC Data Logger was the FIRST, and one of a few OPC Client products that have passed the OPC Foundation’s Independent Test Lab OPC Client Certification process. Choose OPC DataLogger with confidence.
Software Toolbox is strongly committed to the OPC standards and the OPC Foundation’s efforts. Every year we make the investment to attend the foundation’s OPC Interoperability workshops. At these events, any OPC Foundation member company is welcome to come, bring their products, get on a large network, and through following a carefully chosen set of steps and tests, see how well their product works with other OPC products.
We encourage you to use OPC Servers that have passed the OPC Compliance Test and have been a part of the OPC Foundation’s OPC Interoperability testing. The list below is the list of company's and products who have had OPC Servers at the OPC Interop workshops that we have tested with. If your OPC server vendor is not listed it does NOT mean that our OPC Data Logger will not work with it. It only means that vendor was not present at the Interop Workshops - encourage your OPC server vendors to attend the OPC interoperability workshops!
