Testing the Data Logger Configuration

The Data Logger provides a mechanism to test your data logging configuration. The test will run for approximately 5 minutes allowing you to visually inspect the behavior of the Data Logger and observe the data being logged.

 

To access this option, and after you have configured your Project(s), simply open the Logging menu and choose Test Run.

 

By default the length of the Test Run is 300 seconds. This value can be changed if necessary. If you would like to change the maximum length then you will need to change the file below.

 

Running Data Logger as an Application:

C:\Program Files\Software Toolbox\Data Logger\DataLogger.exe.config

 

  1. Open the configuration file in any text editor.  

  2. Towards the bottom of the page there will be an applicationSettings section.
     

      

  3. Within this section you should find a TestRunMaxValue.  

  4. The default value should be 300.  You can change this value to any number less than 32767.

  5. Save the configuration.

  6. You must restart the Data Logger for the changes to take effect.
